Our Story

Founded in 2021 amidst the global pandemic, Fenix Industries set out to dominate the custom packaging scene. Backed by our team’s expertise and vast network, we started strong with custom packaging and injection-molded parts.

Overview

Fenix Industries serves as the direct sales arm of a group of manufacturing companies with facilities based in Asia Pacific. We offer a comprehensive service, helping you manage your project from start to finish so you can concentrate on what truly matters: your business.

We work closely together with our manufacturing facilities to ensure our workforce and supply chain adhere to our high standard for ethical practices and sustainability. This includes rigorous oversight of our workforce to ensure fair labor practices, safe working conditions, and respect for workers’ rights. Additionally, we carefully monitor our supply chain to source materials responsibly, prioritize eco-friendly options, and minimize environmental impact. By maintaining these high standards, we are committed to promoting social responsibility and environmental stewardship throughout our entire production process.

Our History

Fenix Industries was founded in 2021, during the height of the global pandemic, with a vision to establish a strong presence in the custom packaging industry. Leveraging the collective experience and extensive network of our founding team, we began by offering what we knew best: custom plastic packaging and injection-molded parts.

2021
Fenix Industries Conceptualized

Fenix Industries, established in Aurora, Colorado, was founded with the support of members from three different packaging and product manufacturing companies. This core team united with a vision to connect customers directly to the manufacturers supporting Fenix, ensuring top quality service with reasonable pricing.

2022
Expanding Asia Manufacturing
Through constant development with our manufacturing team in Asia we were able to expand on our injection molding technology and provide our customers with an innovative process known as multicolor injection. Allowing us to create vibrant multicolor products without use of toxic paints.
2023
Adopting Paper Pulp for Sustainability
Wanting to further develop our mission for a more sustainable future we looked towards paper pulp and offered shares in our company to the KBD group, an established manufacturing group in the paper pulp industry, further expanding our manufacturing portfolio with 8 locations in APAC including China and the Philippines.

Dave Dunwiddie

Position: Managing Director
External Position: US – Vietnam Council President

Dave is a true industry veteran with 35 years of experience as owner of Dunwiddie Custom Packaging with offices in Colorado, Hong Kong and Shenzhen, China. Throughout his career he has served over 500 brand owners, designing, developing, and distributing custom packaging solutions. He has collaborated with major multinational brands such as OraLabs, Procter & Gamble, Hampton Products, Ace Hardware, Evenflo and Gerber. His extensive work across the Pacific Rim has helped him build long-standing industry networks which significantly contributed to his success in the field. Following the sale of his company in 2018, he took on an active role as a board member of the United States Vietnam Council. In 2024, he was appointed President of the trade group, where he has been instrumental in establishing and strengthening trade relations between the two countries.

Jeremy Lam

Position: Marketing and Operations Director

Rooted in his family’s legacy of manufacturing plastic thermoform packaging and injection molded parts, Jeremy has cultivated extensive connections and a profound understanding of the manufacturing industry in China. Growing up in Vancouver, BC has also given him a unique perspective on the Canada/US market, blending his deep industry knowledge with a global outlook. His experience extends beyond manufacturing, having started his professional career as a sales manager with an import/export company based in Hong Kong, driving the sale of plastic raw materials from China to India. In this role, he served the top CPVC pipe manufacturers in India such as Astral Pipes, Ashirvad, and many others, building strong relationships and routinely engaging with C-suite executives.

Daniel Yu

Position: Supply Chain Director
External Position: KBD Group Board Member

Daniel began his packaging career in the early 2000s at R-Pac before becoming the lead project supervisor at Skullcandy Inc. in 2011, where he directed audio-visual consumer goods packaging projects from concept to creation. In 2017, after parting ways with Skullcandy, he acquired a stake in KBD Group, a manufacturing business group dedicated to sustainable paper pulp packaging since 1990. To enhance his offerings, Daniel simultaneously incorporated a trading company and established a paper pulp products manufacturing facility to assist his operation in connecting American and European brands with high quality suppliers in the Asia-Pacific. He has since managed the supply chain and projects from product to packaging for notable clients like LuMee (acquired by CaseMate), Roka Sunglasses, and Caddis Eyewear.
